Sneak Peek: What’s Coming in the 2.4.7 Adobe Commerce Release for Braintree Merchants! An Interview with Maxine Tremain

With the highly anticipated Adobe Commerce 2.4.7 release just around the corner, we couldn’t resist getting the inside scoop for you on the new Braintree extension v4.6.1 features and functionality that will be included as part of the release. So, we sat down with Maxine Tremain, Head of E-commerce Solutions at GENE, to delve into what’s in store for Adobe Commerce and Braintree merchants.

There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming 2.4.7 Adobe Commerce release and the new features and functionality that will be included. Can you tell us what is in store for Braintree merchants and why should they be upgrading to 2.4.7?

Maxine: Absolutely! The new Braintree features which are included in the new 2.4.7 Adobe Commerce release are all about addressing the evolving needs of merchants in today’s fast-paced e-commerce landscape. We’ve listened closely to feedback from our clients and other Braintree merchants and identified areas of opportunity to streamline the checkout process further, making transacting even more seamless for customers and improving the overall shopping experience. Our Braintree extension is one of the only remaining Vendor Bundled Extensions in the Adobe Commerce platform so in upgrading to 2.4.7, merchants will automatically benefit from all the new features and functionality.

Can you give us a sneak peek into what Braintree merchants can expect from the 2.4.7 release?

Maxine: Of course! Without giving away too much, I can tell you that merchants can look forward to a range of exciting new features and enhancements. From express payments at the top of the checkout to the ability to vault multiple different payment methods. We’ve also focused on optimising performance and addressing any lingering bugs to ensure a smoother overall experience for users.

What is your vision for the future of e-commerce, and how does the new release align with that vision?

Maxine: Our vision for the future of e-commerce is one where merchants have the tools and capabilities they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive market. This means constantly innovating and staying ahead of the curve to meet the evolving needs of both merchants and customers. The new release is a step towards that vision, offering improved functionality, greater flexibility, and enhanced user experiences to help merchants stay ahead of the game.

Can you share some insights into the behind-the-scenes process of working on the new features ahead of the 2.4.7 release?

Working on the latest version of the Braintree extension ahead of the 2.4.7 release was truly a team effort, with cross-functional teams from GENE, Paypal and Adobe collaborating closely to bring it to life. From developers and designers to product managers and QA testers, everyone played a crucial role in the process. The pressure was on to ensure we were adhering to and hitting the required submission deadlines with Adobe, but the dedication and passion of the team never wavered. It was a rewarding experience to see all our hard work come together in the final release, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished.
