Before teaming up with GENE, OKA faced a significant challenge. Their online store was running on an outdated version of Magento (Adobe Commerce), compromising security and performance.

GENE and OKA joined forces to start an exciting upgrade journey, beginning with the shift to Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2.4.2. This laid the foundation for subsequent upgrades, moving on to versions 2.4.3, and culminating in the latest upgrade to 2.4.5 in April 2023.

Recognizing the need for a theme that would align with the evolving platform, we upgraded OKA to the GENE theme, bidding farewell to the old-school standard Magento Venus. This change significantly boosted the site’s stability, performance and improved the overall user interface.

OKA found its e-commerce match for Search & Merchandising in Advanced Commerce, and with the help of the GENE team rolled out in just 3 weeks – a platform record.
